You can sell all or part of your payments.  You can sell periodic payments starting at any point and ending at any point. but the lump sum you receive must be 25k or more. You can also sell part of your monthly payments or part of your lump sum.  Keep on mind payments in the immediate 2 years don't have much value neither do payments out past 10 years so strong consideration should be given when selling these payments.  Your sweet spot should be selling payments out 2 to 7 years.  You can also ask for quotes on obtaining a 30k (hypothetical) lump sum starting selling payments in 2 years.  "How many payments do you need to buy to again give me 30k"  What-ever you do, make sure you compare apples to apples
